There’s a science to writing great blog posts. If you follow the right formula, you can keep readers coming back for more. Fortunately, the formula isn’t difficult to follow. You don’t need a calculator or any math skills. You just need to do a few things and you will have a great blog.
Write Engaging Titles for Posts
Post titles can make or break a blog. If the titles aren’t any good, people won’t go any further. That means they won’t have any idea if you have the best content in the world. They will just glance at your titles and move on to someone else.
With that in mind, you need to spend time crafting great titles for each of your posts. Some people say they actually spend longer writing the title than they do the post itself. Thus, don’t just jot something down and move on to the content. Think about what you want to say and come up with something that will grab people’s attention.
Make the Post Scalable
Good blog posts are scalable. That means they use headlines and bullet points to break the information up. You want people to be able to glance at your post and get the general idea of what you are trying to convey. If they can’t do that, they will move on to someone else.
Thus, before you upload a post, stand back and look at it. Give it a quick glance and see if you can determine the main points. If you can’t, you need to make some changes.
Keep it Short
Keep your posts between 200 and 700 words. If you go over 700 words, there’s a good chance you will lose some readers. On the other hand, if you go under 200 words, you will have a hard time providing people with quality information. Thus, keep it between those two numbers and you will be able to satisfy your readers without boring them.
Mix up the Content
Don’t just upload text. Mix up your content. Look through WordPress themes and select one that can handle pictures and videos. Then, upload a variety of content. It will make your blog more entertaining, and it will cater to people with different learning styles.
Follow these tips so you can keep your readers happy. Happy readers turn into loyal readers, and loyal readers spread the word. Thus, these tips will help you put your blog on the map.
